Review on πŸ’‘ Candelabra Daylight Incandescent Equivalent Non Dimmable - Efficient Lighting Solution by Jake Davies

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great, replaced some other similar power LEDs that were beginning to fail due to quality issues

Replaced my old LED groups, two out of four failed due to poor quality driver components (full phase rectifier, small, works at around 110 % of design power). It really annoys me when LED products fail way before their average lifespan. In any case, the old ones were about as bright as 200 watt CFLs, which is a lot. I mention that for comparison. Moving on: They work very close to the listed specifications. They emit an order of magnitude less light than the LED clusters they replaced, but they're still significantly brighter than 150W omnidirectional incandescent bulbs when using an order of magnitude lower current at 120VAC. These bulbs don't get very hot at all, the last set got a little hot but they sunk badly and had older, less efficient SMD LEDs that were bright but had less efficient phosphene and a diode (top side). regarding heat loss). Overall I am very happy with these devices. They are closed very well and should sit perfectly in my front candle holders (next to the garage door, porch) which are open at the bottom, but very very rarely do we see rain/snow coming up and even if it does , I don't expect any problems due the device encapsulation. As an electrical and electronics engineer without taking them apart they seem reliable from what I see and have in the documentation. I don't leave these lights on all night. I have a home control system of my own design over a Z-wave mesh and the headlights work with IR sensors and other states according to software rules. All four turn on at the same time, all four turn on for example when there is motion within 75 feet of the front of my house, dusk β†’ dawn, and stay on until there's no motion for half an hour or so. . This is necessary for energy saving, security, reliability and comfort. On average, the cluster works about 3-4 hours a day, sometimes more when the weather is very busy or I turn on the light manually. Bright, energy efficient, has the right design. 9/10 If anything breaks or goes haywire I'll update. If they survive their design lives, even if one of them hits 80% of rated usage, I'll be a very happy old man.

Pros
  • Robust design
Cons
  • Was damaged
