Review on 🎨 CCS Chicago Canvas & Supply All Purpose Cotton Drop Cloth - 9ft x 12ft: Durable and Versatile by Braden Douville

This is a durable, high quality canvas with double stitching along the seams and an overall high quality finish. since we use it as a decoration fabric to protect against sun and rain and not as a cloak, it is of an attractive, high quality for this purpose with a strong, even weave and even coloring. smaller than described and expected, the dimensions of the canvas we received were 9 x 12 as expected, although that doesn't bother us as we had space left and intended to fill it up with a wash and dry as a step in our small canvas to reduce. We choose cotton canvas fabric instead of tarps to eliminate the grommets that make it look like a tarp. This way we get a decorative canvas and even more of that 'sail' look that we wanted. Deliberately reducing it to tighten the weave, we washed it in lukewarm water and tumble dried on a medium setting... and to our delight, this cotton canvas washes and dries really well! There's no tension at the seams or anything else, and aside from the fact that it wrinkled, which is what we expected, it dried very evenly and stretched the fabric properly, reducing the size of the hole as we intended. Thus, the shrunken weave reduces the size of the cotton canvas's openings, increasing opacity for better sun protection and reducing water permeability; dense weave = very small openings = increased coverage / increased sun protection and better water repellency. our next step in our little project is impregnation with nikwax. We have used this product in the past during the cold, wet rainy season with excellent results for large outfitter type tents, but this is the first time we have used this Nikwax waterproofing material to waterproof a new raw cotton canvas. We applied one (1) coat of Nikwax Cotton Proof as directed, let dry and wow! . Now we have a beautiful, sail-like fabric for rain and sun protection! :-) . We couldn't have been happier. Water rises and rolls off this cotton fabric like a waxed machine! The wrinkles were easy to smooth out thanks to the tension during installation... and it really does look like a nice horizontal natural canvas! I think we all love it when a project comes together. it hadn't rained yet, we sat underneath very well protected from the sun and simulated rain by spraying it with water from a hose and watching the water drain and bead as expected! Also, this Chicago canvas cotton canvas fabric came with an excellent product warranty, quickly resolving the original issue of the wrong item (5'x20') originally being shipped due to incorrect Upc labelling. We are very pleased with this product, the design created from this product and the proactive, prompt service.
