Review on AODELAN Wirless Shutter Intervalometer Fujifilm by Dan Chunn

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent quality. Works with Canon 60D.

I am reviewing "AODELAN Camera Wirless Shutter Release Timer Intervalometer for Canon EOS 800D, 200D, 80D,750D, 650D, 600D,1300D, 1200D, 90D, M6 Mark II, 6D Mark II, 7D Mark II; Fujifilm X-T3; Olympus E-M1 Mark II I've been looking for a wireless shutter release for my Canon 60D for a long time, but couldn't decide. There are quite a few of them, from basic to full-featured ones like this one. Most of what I shoot is landscape or product photography, but I would love to do more slow motion, wildlife and night photography. This Aodelan seems to have everything I need. So far I've only used it for product photography and briefly for time-lapse. During this little test I found that I could only set the remote to take 199 pictures and set the intervals. I set it to 199 shots at 10 second intervals but was interrupted by rain on my gear and ended up with only 149 shots. (See attached video) There should actually be a way to set it up much longer as 199 shots put together into a time lapse is only a few seconds. I'm still learning about this device so hopefully I can figure out if 199 frames really is the limit. If so, that's very disappointing. As for the wireless shutter remote control, it's perfect for my needs. I can set up the shot and trigger the shutter wirelessly with the remote from quite a distance, which is perfect for photographing the hummingbirds that are often found in my kitchen window feeder. Once the hummingbirds are in position, I can line up the shot from the outside and fire the bolt inside the house. It will also be interesting to try night photography as I can now remotely trigger the shutter in bulb mode without camera shake. You can also use this kit in wired mode and just need to connect the transmitter to the camera's remote port, but personally I will mainly be using this kit in wireless mode. The quality and features of this kit are really good. Both transmitter and receiver are made of high-quality plastic. Both devices use 2 AA batteries, which are not included. Battery life seems good so far and I think my newly installed batteries should last quite a while. While still looking at this kit, I noticed that when trying to take burst shots, it seems to prevent the camera from capturing as quickly as possible. It's not a big deal (because I don't plan on using this set for that) but I thought it was worth mentioning. Aside from the 199 frame time-lapse cap, I'm very happy with the overall performance and quality. this kit and think it's good value for money. *Update - I just found a setting that allows unlimited recordings in "timer" mode. This allows you to take as many shots as you need for interval shooting. That's really good, although I wish you could limit it to a number above 199. How about 999? giggle
