Review on ๐Ÿงด NIVEA Cocoa Butter In-Shower Body Lotion - Moisturizing Formula for Dry to Very Dry Skin - 13.5 oz. Bottle by Lindsey Garcia

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's now a regular part of my facial cleanser

I have strange, very dry, easily irritated skin and follicular keratosis so I'm having a hard time babysitting to get. Soft skin. And to be honest, things like aveeno don't work on my skin, it just feels like liquid water or something. I usually have to use thicker creams/lotions or shea butter. I usually use Lubiderm and it really moisturizes my skin but with colder temperatures in winter I have to apply it more often and to be honest I'm a bit lazy and don't like lotion that often. Nivea has always been a great brand for my skin, especially their creamy formula, which is why I was intrigued by this body wash. First off I don't want to lie but I thought it was some kind of trick to make you apply lotion instead of washing with shower gel and got very confused (I don't understand where this logic came from). But I watched some videos on YouTube and decided to buy it. I've been using it for several days now. What I can say right off the bat is that if like me you're lazy and hate drying yourself to apply lotion then this is perfect. All you do is shower regularly (using body gel lol) and at the end, usually where you grab a towel to dry off, just lather up with the product. Then rinse it off and then pat dry (DO NOT EXTEND) and you're really ready to put on your clothes. Your skin may become as smooth as a baby's bottom, but not if you have very dry skin, especially after the first use. However, over time, it softens and moisturizes the skin. It's not sticky, flaky, greasy and heavy like a cream. Well, if you have follicular keratosis like me, this will help a lot (don't forget to add some more to those extra rough areas). So far I've been using it daily without exfoliating my skin and it's already phenomenal on my skin (so I'll probably update when I find the perfect exfoliator for me). Last but not least, the scent of this product is not too strong. He is strong enough to be noticed but not strong enough to be overbearing. This is great because I usually avoid heavily scented gels and body lotions as the scent and/or perfume content is too high which causes my follicular keratosis to flare up and dries up the already barely life of my epidermis, not to mention causing irritation. So the mild lingering smell of cocoa butter is a plus for me.

Pros
  • Moisturizes instantly, doesn't leave a sticky feeling that lasts more than 24 hours
Cons
  • Almost never
