I recently bought this for two reasons. The old Kodak compact camera I had didn't take good shots inside and especially the Sony's illustration/image effects options. I just got back from a cruise where I was able to take loads of photos and get to know the camera a little better. . I just looked at all the pictures I took and was quite impressed. Having received the camera just before I left I didn't have a chance to read all the settings etc so I'm sure some of my photos would have turned out better had they been set correctly. LOVE picture effects and love the fact that you can take your photos afterwards and modify them in illustration mode without affecting the original photo. I wish I could do this with all picture effects (maybe I can, but I just don't know). The only downside I see right now is some of the buttons on the camera, particularly the video button. It's very hard to press and many times I thought I'd disabled the movie recording feature, but I didn't. (The screen was hard to see in bright sunlight.) The camera is very compact, fits perfectly in your pocket and I got it for a great price which makes it even better!
