The wax definitely worked! It cooled down at a perfect rate as well. There is a hot glue scent in the wax, which isn't all too strange, as they often suggest putting hot glue in wax to thicken it, however, this could indicate that it is of poorer quality. They were my first try blunders.As for packaging, it was not great. The cork for the glass container does not stay on, so my wax beads were strewn about in the tiny box. I would have left a one star if the box hadn't kept them all inside, luckily it saved me losing them. But, I can't guarantee that each box will properly hold the beads, so there could be a chance that you lose some.
