Review on 🎙️ Olympus WS-210S Voice Recorder (141960) (Brown): Compact and Reliable Recording Solution by Chris Maurer

I bought this recorder to replace a Sony ICD-BM1 which I found dangerously cumbersome. The thumb controls for playback and recording fold back easily; He tended to overwrite previously recorded material rather than create a new file or append to an existing one, and recorded in a proprietary format that wasn't playable on a Mac until I converted it with a Windows program. Did I mention the batteries died with little to no warning? The Olympus WS-210S solved all of these problems in a jiffy while reducing its size and weight by half. I've used it for several hours of recording and it's much more user-friendly. The record button is all alone and well marked with a red dot. The Delete button requires confirmation. It starts new files instead of overwriting existing ones. In every way it's easier to use and less likely to screw me up. It records in Windows Media format, which I don't like, but it works great on both Windows and Mac. The single lithium battery lasts forever, and booting with the onboard USB port is super fast. It has fixed storage instead of a removable card, but I'm not at the limit yet before downloading and backing up my audio files and deleting the voice recorder.
