When I received this door for the first time, I was a bit skeptical. I chose to mount the door with the screen on the track, unlike some other reviewers who removed the screen from the track prior to installation. My wife and I worked together on this setup which made the process a lot easier. Depending on the thickness of your screen, you may need to use a razor or grinder to cut holes for the "pins" to pop out, this has happened to me. After cutting out all the holes I was able to attach the two sides together. Keep in mind this will not be an easy little process, I was able to position the edge of the door against the frame of my sliding glass door which helped bring the two sides together. This is one of the reasons why removing the screen is probably the best idea. I would recommend a rubber mallet to get the two sides in properly. Once connected, simply run your razor over the edge of the door and you're done! It took my dog a day or two to settle in but now she is free to go out as she pleases. And we don't have to open/close the door 50 times a day!
