I chose to mount the door with the screen on the track, unlike some other reviewers who removed the screen from the track prior to installation. Both sides of the frame fit together, but it wasn't as easy as it sounds - my nylon grille (which I reinstalled for the door) was the standard gauge, I think. With aluminum grilles, the door stays where you leave it; Gravity is not enough to close it as the hinges are sticky. The principle of operation of the hinge is that both the inner (pin) and outer (barrel) parts are divided into two halves. So if the frames don't connect completely, the pin will be thicker and rub against the barrel. With my metal screen, the frames protrude everywhere except for the attachment points.
