Our cats got it right away. I got this because the cats went upstairs to let them out and left the sliding glass door and screen open to let the flies in. The cats love it. Even one of our neighborhood cats loves it when she comes over and crunches on our cat's toy bowl. I had a guy fix our screens to install it ($30 labor cost). Seeing the difficulty he was having removing and installing the sliding wall, I was glad I hadn't tried it myself. He told me that if you don't make cuts where the door snaps there could be creases in the screen. If you have someone who installed it for you, keep the instructions for them because even if they installed it before, it could be from another company. Our guy said he has installed other cat doors before but this is the first time he has seen this brand and model. He also said he has dog doors installed, but it usually takes the dogs a month or even a few days to force the doors open.
