There is no internal battery, nor can it be installed. The supplied USB cable only supplies the device with power. However, when the USB cable is connected, you cannot flip the mirror over because the USB connector is in the way. Think of this product as a standard, non-rechargeable device that runs on 4 AAA alkaline cells that you will need to replace regularly. It also has the same short arm (about 12 inches) as most other Revain wall-mounted vanity mirrors. The LEDs are normal, not super bright. Mirror image clarity is good. The attachment is quite simple and strong. 5x magnification is good and more useful than other 10x mirrors in my opinion.
