I had hopes for this device. I think it might work well if it came with an air hose that hooks into the back and then installs on a window where there is insulation = you could get cooler air. For me it worked like a little table fan - if you're a little close. If you step back 2 feet, you'll hardly feel a thing. It doesn't cool down in any way - not even a degree lower. Especially when it's 90 degrees outside and the window is open. Also, mine may be broken. Because no matter which settings and in which direction, the air only flowed from the left side. 1 = 3 slots. Nothing came out of the other half. A normal 2 x 2 square fan is more powerful and also quieter and cheaper I think. I could invest in portable air conditioners that cost more. It might be better if you pay 200 times more. I live in West Los Angeles = hot. I have air conditioning. I figured this would make it a lot cooler and save power. Maybe I have a bad one, or maybe they work well for others. Sorry, I don't like writing bad reviews. In addition, there is a tiny opening for the water inlet. I think it would be better if you could pour it over it. And if you're pouring from behind, you'll have to turn to the front to see how much water has been poured. Why not put it on the same side? The settings are very, very, very easy to use. Calm. I had to return it.
