I keep white noise generators on hand in case one of them fails because I need "fan noise" to sleep. I have tinnitus and can't sleep without the sound of a fan. I consider myself a power user when it comes to these machines. I sleep with one all night. I have used LectroFan machines for many years and love their volume and sound. This car was "good" and loud enough, but I still prefer another brand. Although the volume gets pretty loud, it's not quite the volume I need. If this is your FIRST sound machine, you'll probably be happy with it. If you only need it for a kid's room or are an occasional user, that should be fine too. My requirements and expectations of such a machine are quite high. I love that it comes with a USB power cable and plug adapter so you can power it from USB or a wall outlet. I keep this as a backup in case my others fail or break down, mainly because they get too loud. I don't use a timer or light so I can't comment on them. Haven't tried the wireless speaker feature yet, but it's a good feature.
