When I wanted to buy a dictaphone I didn't need a dictaphone with fancy lighting, backflip, with a built in stun gun (although that would be cool ;) I just wanted a dictaphone so I wouldn't forget my thoughts during the day . I have a very bad memory and I knew that if I could speak my thoughts instead of writing them down, I could remember a lot more than I wanted to remember. That's why I started here at Revain. The reason I started working with Revain was because they have the widest range of everything. (my personal opinion) After looking at a few different ones I decided the Olympus would be my best bet. I've always had a great time with Olympus and never had a problem with it. I wasn't disappointed! The device itself weighs only about 65 grams and measures 4x1.5x11/16 (LxWxD in inches). It's literally the size of my palm and fits comfortably in my hand (although my hand is larger than most people's). internal microphone and speaker, both suitable for any atmosphere. Most audiophiles won't be happy with the sound quality, but don't be discouraged, it clearly records everything that's spoken. The menu also offers a choice of high or low microphone recording, as well as XHQ, HQ, SP, and LP audio quality. It also has a microphone and headphone jack so you can use external devices with it. The user interface is very easy to use and very intuitive. There's a hold switch on the left for lock and shutdown, a battery gauge in the top right corner, and an easy-to-read LCD screen. It has four folders (A, B, C, D) for easy organization, and each shot records the date and time it was shot. If you hold it down, pressing a button will only show the date and time. . (it can also show 24 hours) This device doesn't have a USB port to connect to your computer (so the computer isn't included in the model number) and it actually comes in silver instead of blue. One thing that annoyed me but wasn't a huge issue was that it has a strap hole but doesn't come with a strap. This is an accessory that can be purchased from Olympus. Overall, this is a wonderful product and actually quite cheap for its features. For those with bad memories, this is also a salvation. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to record everything from thoughts to performances.
