Compact, light and high quality

I am very satisfied with this Olympus voice recorder. It worked well in a large room as well as when recording a one-on-one conversation. The voice activation feature worked flawlessly and didn't drop the recording without a lag when it started, which is very impressive. You'd think the machine could have predicted when people would start talking! Simple, convenient management. Great battery life. I couldn't find any flaws. I would never go back to a tape recorder!

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • There are even more interesting options.

Already paid for itself by curing my PPM

Great recorder! I am very satisfied with the digital recorder VN3100. This is exactly what I need for my PPM (sorry bad memory). I use it for business meetings, church meetings, to-do lists, and general thoughts when paper and pen aren't available. I didn't need the data upload feature that the VN-3100PC offers, but if I did, it would be worth the extra $20. It's easy to use and small enough to fit in any pocket or I bought a collar too. The sound is clear and rich, and the price makes it a…

Easy to use once you get used to it

Very handy little device but not very intuitive to use the first few times. (The instructions aren't very clear, and the display and controls are labeled somewhat ambiguously.) After a few runs of using it to secretly create and transcribe restaurant notes, it's honey. Although it was confusing at first, maybe because I'm used to microcassette recorders (Sony, Panasonic, Olympus). There is no remote on/off feature, which would be handy. It's also silver, although it looks black in some…

Good little voice recorder

I used this recorder a lot, I have a lot of activities and the playback is good, it has small folders where if you record in a section you don't have to worry you don't have to listen, but you can go to the next folder and record. The sound quality is good, the recording time is 36 hours, which can be divided into folders. The only thing is when you record make sure you adjust the volume, I forgot to turn the volume up a bit and the recording was quiet and vice versa. Nice little easy to use…

That's exactly what I wanted!

I looked at Revain portable digital recorders, read all the reviews and decided this product was right for me and it worked. Big. I didn't need download capacity so this little gadget fills the gap between my good intentions and my brain. All good ideas and/or things to do seem to me to come while driving or in the middle of a project. I have this recorder in my work apron and before I get the idea I'll record it. I later add it to my to-do list and it helps me stay on track. I didn't even read

Oops!: Digital Voice Recorders

I was trying to save a few bucks and bought a VN3100. That does a great job for me. I have no complaints about the quality of the device, so I give it 4 stars. I only use it for reminders throughout the day. It's a lot easier to write down my thoughts than trying to memorize them all. I am an architect and many ideas come and go throughout the day. The VN3100 is great for quick shots. My regret was caused by multiple shots of my two boys (2 and 5 years old). We played and now I have some…

The microcassette is a thing of the past

I like this recorder. I had a Sony Micro cassette player to record the runs I made crossing state lines in my 18-rad (which is better than trying to record them). But then my dispatcher called with an order number or directions, and that information was written between my next status line. Trying to find my runs would take a while looking through all the other information. Not so with Olympus. Everything is stored in different folders. Mileage in folder A. Directions in folder B. PO in C. And…

Great registrar! â Digital Voice Recorders

I need this recorder because I was recently diagnosed w/PPM (Piss Poor Memory). Seriously, this is a handy little gadget. Its tiny size makes it practically portable, and the buttons and display are large enough for easy use. I am disabled and find it very difficult to write so this voice recorder is great for class, not note taking. Also, I often forget some important information that my doctor may have mentioned, so I now bring a voice recorder every time I go to the office. The built-in mic…

Convenient Dictaphone Dandy

When I wanted to buy a dictaphone I didn't need a dictaphone with fancy lighting, backflip, with a built in stun gun (although that would be cool ;) I just wanted a dictaphone so I wouldn't forget my thoughts during the day . I have a very bad memory and I knew that if I could speak my thoughts instead of writing them down, I could remember a lot more than I wanted to remember. That's why I started here at Revain. The reason I started working with Revain was because they have the widest range…
