Review on Backpack Lightweight Compartment Headphone Backpacks by James Salem

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Tailoring looks good both inside and out

I would like to double check this, first as received and then after some time of use. The backpack arrived safely in a plastic bag. All zippers worked well. No loose or misstitched seams or corners. Tailoring looks good both inside and out. The backpack is made of a material of medium thickness, so the quality of the stitching of the material is important. A skipped seam, poorly sewn zipper, or poor reinforcement can lead to premature wear or failure. Zipper quality is average, clips are standard. The shoulder straps only have about 3/8" thick padding for sharp edges - I'll let you know after some use if they get cut. Top handle is plastic coated wire rope - looks solid but I don't feel or see much Material and cross stitch reinforcement at attachment points - I can see how it holds up over time Plenty of pockets and in the right places I like that it has two side pockets for bottles, as well as two zippered slanted pockets above each bottle pocket that runs along run down the bottom of the backpack - perfect for stashing a foot length umbrella and deep enough so it doesn't fall out. The description says it's waterproof - I'll find out. I like the laptop holder - a padded pocket with a secure strap. at the top. Good with pocket - does not fall out when opened main compartment is big deep wide I will come back in a few months and fee dback to wear 3 to 4. Last 6 days rain from medium to heavy - everything stayed dry inside :D !Lightning is good. Sometimes they stick, but that's not a defect - only the material of the bag is light - the zippers are like hard materials. The shoulder straps turned out to be comfortable - they don't crack even with a heavily loaded backpack. After a few comments I'll write months off about durability. 05/18/2018 - now survived the rainy season and kept everything dry inside. The material is still intact. I loaded it with 8-15lbs. things and used it daily to get to work and the straps, handles and material were fine. I was concerned about the reinforcement points like the handle attachment and how the material would stretch under heavy loads, but it was ok :D!. My final suggestion would be that they replace the zippers with YKK branded ones. The ones they use appear to be regular zippers. I noticed on the front pocket that I open a lot, that the zipper rail is damaged in some places. I usually pull the bag zipper at an angle and the zipper gets stuck halfway. I fear the Blitzweg will fail prematurely. I've seen YKK branded zippers are much more durable and self-healing. So that would be my last wish - YKK zippers. I have a Land's End fabric briefcase that is over 20 years old. I've used it and abused it, overfilled it and dropped it. The fabric has holes and tears, but all YKK zippers are intact. This bag would get 5 stars if it used YKK zippers. Otherwise I am very happy with the performance of this bag and would buy it again.
