Review on Nikon 35mm f/1.8G Auto Focus Lens for Nikon DSLR Cameras - Black (Model 2183) by Ha Joon (Hj) ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Everything is fine, I liked the product, I bought it for a reason.

For the price, it's a pretty good option. I was very pleased with the compact size and low weight, with a small SLR Nikon D3100 took up very little space in the bag. Autofocus is fast enough and very quiet, I almost didn’t notice the sound of the motor at all. The sharpness is excellent already starting from the open aperture, closing to F / 4 absolutely sharp across the entire field of the frame, the picture draws quite interesting, definitely better than the whale 18-55. The main feature for me is a completely uncomfortable focal length. On the crop, it turns out to be not at all wide, but still not a portrait. You can shoot landscapes and the city, but in many cases it is too narrow, you can’t walk around indoors at all. For portraits, the set is not sufficiently focal, if only to shoot waist-deep or even full-length, since it does not magically become 50 on the crop (only the viewing angle corresponds to it). In general, for its price, a quality lens, but you need to take into account the features of the focal length.

Pros
  • Excellent sharpness from wide open Good picture that the lens gives out Compact size Aperture Price
Cons
  • Far from the most convenient focal length on the crop. In general, for its price, there are practically no shortcomings, except for a very noticeable lens hood play and some looseness of the focus ring (perhaps a feature of my copy).
