I bought these because when watching TV at night the bright TV contrasted too much with the totally dark room and caused my eyestrain. We tried things like night lights and other small lamps, but they either caused glare on the screen or didn't help much. I attached an LED strip to the back of the TV that illuminates the surrounding wall without glare. Ideal! Before we watch anything, let's choose a background color and adjust the brightness. We tried the color changing mode but found it distracting. The only thing that disappointed me about this light strip is the limited number of adhesive hooks. It's not enough of that! There are only 4 clips in the box but the tape takes about 20 to stay in place. I ordered a 3M Striplight Clamp Kit for this. Tip: Use masking tape first to attach the light strip. This allows you to easily adjust the configuration before using more permanent clamps. I only received them a few weeks ago, so I can't comment on durability (LEDs usually last a while).
