These bowls are great for dishes like cereal, soup etc. They can be reheated in the microwave when cooking uncolored foods like oatmeal. Heating food in it, such as chili peppers or spaghetti, stains them and the stain cannot be removed. Boiling gelatin in it for a serving will also color it. I've tried everything to get it and it's not possible. Now there are 2 bowls for "red" foods (chili, spaghetti, red jelly, etc.). Had I known this I would not have bought it which is why I am leaving this review. Again, if you're looking for bowls for cereal, soup etc these are excellent and can be washed in the top and bottom racks of the dishwasher which is a nice touch. I bought them specifically to warm up food, so they left me very disappointed.
