The part that got to me was delivered on time and securely packaged. It matched the one I removed from my car exactly and snapped into place perfectly. The socket on the part is shaped like an oval or baguette, so it will take you a minute or two to connect it to the connector on the car. The hardest part of this repair is getting your hand in the tight space behind the glove box to remove the old part and install the new one. So it's a bit tricky to remove and install, but that's not the parts manufacturer's fault. It's just the way the car is set up. There are 2 screws holding the part in place and it is difficult to unscrew and screw them back in place. Due to the tight space behind the dashboard, it is almost impossible to use a ratchet. I found it easier to just hold the socket between your thumb and forefinger and manually loosen or tighten the screws. The size of the bolt bushing is so small that it's difficult to grab when bent into the awkward position you need to stay in to make repairs. It slipped out of my hand a few times before I found it useful to either wrap the socket in mounting tape (double sided, which allows a picture to be mounted to the wall without making holes) or put on a thick leather glove. to make it easier to grab and rotate the bushing once you've placed it on the stud. After using these tricks, I quickly went through the repair. I did this repair a month ago. The part works great, the noise has stopped and my ventilation control works great again. As I said, this is the exact same part that was removed from the car. Sometimes you pay for a part and it looks different, so you have to hope it will fit or be compatible over time. But there is nothing to fear here. The price is very reasonable considering the mechanic wanted to charge me $300 just to look at it even though he thought he knew what it was.
