Quality Product: Heater

Got this for my Chevy Colorado. My air conditioner's recirculation vent was out of order and did not interfere with the flow of outside air into the cabin. After diagnosing the problem, this part is all I need. This solved the problem. Now that summer is still in full swing, it blocks the outside air to my truck cab so the air conditioning works as it should and cools down much quicker in the truck.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • unreliable

Sort of like buying a car but not being allowed to buy it.

Product works as advertised. The only problem I have is that they are difficult to remove. Very little space to work without removing the entire dashboard. The product has a defective (half finished) plastic gear that will break down over time and GM/AC Delco will not sell the gear as a replacement for 10 cents. It's like buying a car, but you can't buy a spare tire without buying a new rim! I think it's too much money.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Not bad

Great item works great

Received it back in July about 5 months ago and it has been running like clockwork since I installed it. I ended up having to disassemble the entire panel to install it, but it was worth it. I just don't have the patience or tiny hands to make this switch by feel. Take this from someone with no car maintenance experience, you can do it yourself. All it takes is a little patience, hard work, and common sense (and maybe a YouTube tutorial or two). I highly recommend this part.

  • Excellent construction

Fixes the stupid TICKTICKTICKTICK on the dashboard when you toggle the air.

Fixes that stupid TICKTICKTICKTICK on the dash when you switch the air to recirculation. The item is as described and works as described, just like the one I removed from my car. 3 stars because the gear inside that makes the ticking noise is still plastic so the part will eventually fail again. Come on GM! Good price. Mounting screws are not included, so keep them when you remove the broken one.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • No performance

Identical to the original equipment

The markings on the drive I removed are exactly the same as this replacement so they are the same as the original equipment. When I first took it off last summer, I removed the dashboard, which made it a little easier to access (but not by much). Then I rotated the gear 180 degrees and it seemed to work for about 8 months and then it started making the clicking noise again. It seems to have 3 screw holes but I find it almost impossible to put the 3rd screw back in so I only used 2 screws which…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Genuine GM part - rough outer casing - don't be fooled - this is a new part

I initially posted a negative review about Delco sending me a used part. But I guess Delco just didn't put much effort into the plastic molding because it's hidden under the dash. So, yes, the part looks used, but upon closer inspection (and ordered from a second source, same box/part came), the first DIRECT FROM DELCO was clearly NEW. So my apologies (even if this negative review was never published). Airbag hole* Most people (and youtube videos) show how to get in through the glove box. Both…

There are no spare parts here, just a cheap, exact replacement

The part that got to me was delivered on time and securely packaged. It matched the one I removed from my car exactly and snapped into place perfectly. After some difficulties (described below), the part took only 5 minutes to install. The socket on the part is shaped like an oval or baguette, so it will take you a minute or two to connect it to the connector on the car. Once you've lined them up correctly, you can just snap the part into place and voila. No more ticking behind the dashboard. I
