Mine just arrived and I've set it up on a sofa and two lounge chairs. - only on the corners and low backs of the chairs where I saw scratch marks. It's really similar to double-sided carpet tape but much thinner and more flexible. If there is a curve, it can be easily adjusted. The sheets are quite large (can't imagine covering large areas with tape) and can be trimmed as needed. They're sticky enough to stick to the upholstery, but not so sticky that they can't be removed or even rearranged. For those complaining about lint and cat hair stuck to these sheets, I don't expect a problem. It's not as big a problem as torn upholstery. For some reason, cat hair doesn't accumulate on furniture, only on carpets. I have never noticed "lint" on my furniture. And when a year goes by and they start looking a little dirty, just take them off and replace them. In terms of looks, one of the nice things is that these sheets smooth out obvious cracks and lumps when applied. I don't find them flashy at all unless the light hits them right and you notice a little glow. It's not like covering your furniture with plastic wrap. Now only time will tell if this will discourage my cat from wiping or scratching for attention. I'm sure these sheets will work just fine.
