- This lamp has a little more plastic than I expected, the base/shade is held in place by a plastic nut - The USB sockets are plastic and don't fit. The base (bottom) is very thin, it seems it can be torn quite easily (may not be very good if there are small children in the house). click. On/off once, pleasantly dimmed light before bedtime. On off. doubles the brightness, on/off. three times gives full brightness. So if you do 1 on/off you will regularly have bad lighting. If you need full light, you need to turn it on and off 3 times. Wherever you switch it 1 ON/OFF LOW, 2 ON/OFF MEDIUM and 3 ON/OFF BRIGHT - it stays there until you switch it to a different setting. I'm not a fan of switching from my usual LOW setting and when I need it bright I have to toggle the volume three times. Then, to return to the low level, 3 more loud cycles of ON / OFF. If you are sleeping with someone, this lamp will annoy them and will definitely wake them up.
