Review on 🐱 Optimized Scratching Post Perch by SmartCat: The Ultimate Solution by Robin Brinks

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good base, pad needs SIGNIFICANT improvement (tips included!)

Great addition to the scratching post, if a little small. The velcro on the pillow is sparse and stops working after a week or two (our post gets exposed to strong sunlight). The first few times I fixed it with super glue. That broke it again. Also, the color faded. So instead of buying a new one, I followed the suggestion in this thread to upgrade my existing wooden perch. I bought 1 carpet tile from FLOR ($9 off, $12 shipping I think), drew and cut a rod shaped piece and glued it to the rod with Gorilla Glue (pinched for maximum hold - don't spread the glue). to the very edge, as it swells as it dries). Finally, I glued cotton tape around the edges to hide the "seam". This was over 5 months ago and it looks the same as the day I did it. ZERO signs of use. Cats use it several times a day. pictures below.
