Overall it's a great light but not quite what I expected. It's bright enough, with multiple brightness levels to choose from and a very flexible head that works great. However, the clip is huge and heavy. It's awkward to clip it to a book and unfortunately that's a problem as that's its intended purpose. The base is large and heavy enough, as you can see from some of the product photos, to be used both as a base and simply placed on a table. It's not a bad feature, but if I wanted it I'd just go with the lamp. Another complaint I have about the light, which is very common with these book lights, is that most of them use a harsh white light that can be uncomfortable on the eyes after a while. I prefer softer yellow light. Despite these complaints it's still a very good device and would be great for most people for late night reading!
