Good pictures and format. But the camera's performance could be improved. Too many menus within menus and difficult to scroll and click. And pressing a finger smudges the LCD screen. The hot shoe is a MINI-HOT SHOE, so the pistol mic I bought has a regular base that doesn't fit! I was trying to gently bend the frame of the camera's hot shoe and one side broke off so I'm connecting my mic now. It looks professional. Why make a mini hot shoe when a regular hot shoe fits on this camera? Also, the zoom lever is left to right instead of back and forth like old camcorders, and it has too much resistance, so press gently and then harder and suddenly there's a lot of zooming in. I just want to smoothly control my zoom speed. Why has this feature, used on camcorders since the 1980s, been replaced by a tiny, difficult-to-use side zoom lever?
