I am changing my mind about this camcorder. I admit some of my mistakes, because of which I previously had a different opinion. The thing is that the clarity of the video is very dependent on both the settings and the correct video conversion. I have been working with Ulead VideoStudio for a long time. It allows you to easily convert MOD files (which the camera writes) to standard AVI. But at the same time, it significantly worsens the clarity of the video, I did not immediately discover this and am still surprised, because the program is still serious, it should edit everything correctly. The camera shoots interlaced video, and when converting to AVI, it is very important to do the deinterlacing in the most correct way so as not to lose clarity and quality. Now I do all this in VirtualDub, with the appropriate plugins installed. And the quality of the video is almost original. And it's not that bad. It is possible to shoot video of acceptable quality with this camera even in the dark. To do this, in the dark, set the shutter speed to 1/25 and the backlight compensation mode. Try not to use the low light mode as it has a lot of noise. During the day, use a shutter speed of 1/50 (in the sun you can use 1/100). Aperture should change automatically. And then the video quality will be good. Of course, it could be better, but still there are not so many reasons for criticism. If you shoot using the correct settings, and then do the right deinterlacing, then the quality will be quite acceptable. I regret that last time I scolded Panasonic. Of course, the camera could be made a little better, put a 1/6 matrix, but still the camera is not bad.
