Review on πŸ”΄ Kanto YU4 Glossy Red/Rouge by Aaron Collins

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Almost perfect for the size, with subwoofer

Disclaimer: I am hard of hearing in one ear so please take that into account when reading this review. But as a videographer, I work alongside sound engineers and professional AV equipment, so I've picked up some audio skills over the years. The speakers themselves sound great, you'll need to pair them with a subwoofer to get bass vibration. In real conditions, when testing kanto yu 4, the frequency only dropped to 92 Hz at 3f. This means you hear the mids and lows but don't "feel" them. Highs are crisp (not as crisp as ribbon tweeters, but crisp for $330 speakers) and frequency separation is very noticeable, but not at very high frequencies. , it seems like it rolls off very, very high frequencies. Max volume was a bit disappointing, I've been driving 5.1 Logitech Z5500's for 14 years (they suck I know but like I said I'm a video guy), I can wake my neighbors with obvious Logitech hiss but Kantos seems around enough to fill my bedroom at maximum volume (no subwoofer). I couldn't get the singing to "fill" my bedroom. But it's obvious that Logitech produces erratic noises, while Kantos produces wonderfully clear sound relatively naturally. I had absolutely no problems with any connections. Love this bluetooth, crystal clear sound and no hiss or feedback at max volume on ANY connection. And the remote control is durable. Conclusion: I like the sound, a bit lacking in bass, but Canto has included a subwoofer in return. My solution was to pair kanto sub 8 with yu4 but then I ran into another problem. U4 didn't sound as loud as we would like. So I sent the yu 4 back and bought the yu 6. I am completely satisfied with my setup. In hindsight, I should have just paid another $100 and bought a Kanto Tuk, but Kanto Tuk is not available on Amazon. I know it all depends on the seller but my kanto yu4 return process was a nightmare.
