They're pretty easy to put down. There are more than enough cords and wire hangers to hide your work from others. Position the bulbs roughly where you want them, determine the length of wiring you will be using, then remove the glue and insert the bulbs. If you make a mistake, no problem, there are plenty of extra strings, sticky pads and hangers! The bulbs are surprisingly quite bright, and they're a lot brighter than the fluorescent tubes they replaced. I got a little creative and drilled a few holes to route the wires from my microwave outlet to the lightbulbs so no one can see the wires. I turn them on/off with either a button or a hand gesture via the light sensor. It's easy when my hands are dirty and I don't have to press a button. I'm very glad I went with "cool white" which is more like daylight, "true" white rather than "warmer white". ', which has a yellow tint.
