Review Updated 12/11/19 I originally wrote a 2 star review which is pinned below. After my initial review, Takenone contacted me and offered me an upgraded cable and power supply. is free. The new cable is sealed at the mini-USB end to ensure a snug, weatherproof fit on the camera. However, the other end of the cable that connects to the power supply has no seal and is still not weatherproof. This is in contrast to another PSU and cable I have purchased from another manufacturer which is fully sealed to the PSU making it weather resistant. For this reason I did not give 5 stars. However, Takenone's customer service is 5 stars. The charger itself doesn't appear to have changed from the original I received, so I suspect it's still charging slowly. Original Review This is not an all-weather outdoor power supply and cable! First, let me say that I install Arlo Pro 2 systems as part of my business. I typically power my outdoor cameras from an Arlo solar panel. However, Arlo solar panels are very unreliable and typically fail within 6 months. That's why I'm looking for a reliable external power supply. I chose this power cord and adapter based on the reviews, so I bought two of these. The power cord is very thin, which is great for padding, but the USB ports are very thin and lack gaskets to keep moisture out of the camera's power ports and power adapter. The fact is that on one of the cables, the micro-USB connector immediately broke. In comparison, the power cable that comes with the Arlo solar panel is solid and the connectors are sealed with grommets. The AC adapter charges the camera very slowly. For comparison, I took two dead cameras and connected one to the Arlo charger and the other to this charger. The Arlo charger fully charged the camera in a few hours, while this charger took around 10 hours to fully charge. I ended up returning an adapter and keeping one due to the 30ft cord length. The extra length allowed me to plug in the PSU in the garage. I wouldn't recommend leaving the charger outside as moisture will eventually corrode the USB connection. After this purchase I found another power supply with a 16 foot cord that I like a lot more.
