coffee because my husband makes tea for me in the morning and I drink it in the evening and he also makes me coffee in the morning. The mugs we used did not have lids and we used a lid from one of our handmade tea/coffee mugs. They hold about 10 ounces of liquid and often I need more than the cup size for my tea or coffee and I haven't drunk my coffee all the way out of my custom 18 and 20 ounce cups so this is the perfect size. And I like the fact that tops go with it. You are very beautiful. Initially when I heated my tea and then steeped I could taste wood in my tea but after that I no longer taste wood in my coffee or top tea. Therefore, I recommend washing the top thoroughly and of course not putting it in the microwave. I highly recommend them. They are as colorful and beautiful as the pictures and true to color.
