Reliable product and performance

Very happy with this hydration system and its effectiveness. The materials seem essential. The central baffle on the 3 liter tank helps to save space in the backpack. The hatch system works very well, I was able to open and close it every time without any problems. The MOLLE hose clamp is a nice addition, although I didn't use one. (Use ITW GrimLoc to secure the hose) Right after I bought it I used it at the GORUCK Heavy (24 hour/40+ miles) team endurance event. No problems throughout the competition, even after taking the camera out of the backpack several times. , multiple refills and multiple hose disconnects. This balloon has withstood some pretty heavy hitting while in my backpack during the event. (Backpack used for overhead push, dropped, carried 1 mile backwards, flipped, etc.) For the price, you can't go wrong. Similar hydration systems easily cost 2-3 times as much. The only criticisms would be: - The hanging loop could be a bit bigger. No real issues, just took a little effort threading my backpack's suspension strap through. - Not 100% sure but it looks like the bite valve assembly can be pulled/removed from the hose. It didn't happen but I was sure I would keep an eye on it. Perhaps it could be reinforced with some sort of "clamp" or small tie. - Bite's valve dust cap won't keep sand out while surfing. (Not that this was "normal" usage, but it happened). Although it washes off easily. Overall, I would recommend this hydration system to anyone, regardless of purpose. If it survives the GORUCK Heavy, it will definitely survive a normal hike.
