The bar didn't hold in its place anyway. I had no idea such a brush existed. I have problem hair, it used to be straight and I'd curl it every day. Since becoming a senior, my hair has become nappy in the back and mats easily. I've tried detangle sprays, conditioners, wide combs, but nothing would help me with the matting (yes I do wash regularly and brush 1-2 times daily. I've cut all my hair off, which on me was quite unflattering, to get rid of this issue.I've decided to let my hair grow out and again, I've developed the same problem. I felt if I could keep it long, in a bun that would be the solution. On ebay I came across this hairbrush and was shocked to be able to brush out knots with very little hair loss. It's easy to clean and use. The little bar that holds the brush together never stayed in place, so I tossed it, but miraculously I don't know what it's supposed to do, but it did nothing for me the first time I used it. I very highly recommend this hairbrush for those who have kinky hair, those who have developed the same problem as I have, or even for women of color.
