I always seem to have needed a back scratcher but it was supposed to be in a different room so it was worth buying two as advertised. The scratching head is wider and the extension stays on, at least for now when they're new. The wooden handle is larger than most back scratchers as I have arthritis and the wooden handle is square so it's easier to hold than smaller handles. If your skin is easily scratched or torn, or if you have areas such as birthmarks or birthmarks that are raised on your skin, then just take it. In general, it copes with the task.
