Review on Premium [3-PACK] Mr.Shield Anti-Glare [Matte] Screen Protector for Microsoft Surface Pro 4 - Lifetime Replacement Included by Reid Rickerson

Read this to find out what you're getting! Note: I love this screen protector.

1) The matte finish of this screen protector is amazing, as is the anti-glare finish. Does the screen look different? Yes. What. Is. expected. The anti-reflective effect of a matte surface is the result of an increase in surface roughness, which diffuses light in more directions, as opposed to a glossy surface, which is smooth and reflective. If you expect exactly the same "crispness" of the great original screen, a matte screen protector is not for you. If you are satisfied with a slightly blurry screen for readability in bright places (e.g. outdoors, by a window, under a lamp, in a tanning bed) and a paper feel when using a pen, then get this screen. Protector.2) The pen slides differently. Remember how I explained screen roughness and smoothness above? That's why. There is more friction between the pen and the screen. I've tried all 3 tips I have and decided I like the HB best with this matte screen protector, but when using a bare screen I actually prefer the 2H pen tip for almost full glide. If you don't want to compromise the feel of the pen, a matte screen protector isn't for you. If you like the feel of pencil on paper then this is perfect for you. 3) It is not tempered glass. So if you're looking for a "bulletproof" screen because you don't take good care of your devices, this isn't for you. Tempered glass screen protectors are glossy, not matte. If you value the readability and feel of paper rather than *might* save your device's screen if you drop it, this is definitely for you. 4) It doesn't reach the edge of the screen. It's not bad. Yes, while it does make installation a bit more difficult, it is beneficial for two reasons: 1) It leaves no burr on the end of the device and therefore will not snag or detach from random objects. 2) Allows use of the case. I have a case on my Surface Pro because I wanted a strap on the back. There is enough clearance between the edge of the protective film and the edge of the case to prevent the protective film from blowing or peeling off. 5) The installation wasn't terrible. Watch the video that advises viewing, and also watch the video of the installation using the hinge method, which essentially involves aligning the protective film before removing the film protecting the adhesive side, using two pieces of tape be used on one edge of the protective film. a device to make a "hinge" that allows you to "open" the protective film like a book, remove the film, and then place it in the same place you stuck it. You have three attempts (three screen protectors). I did it in one with no dust and no bubbles (use a bubble pusher). Take your time cleaning the screen and use the flashlight from different angles to see if you missed any dust. I had some static electricity on the film when I took it out of the box, so be sure to remove the static electricity before beginning the prep process, otherwise it will be more difficult to protect the screen from dust, fibers, and lint. this screen protector is for you if: - you want to reduce glare and can handle losing some "clarity" - you want a paper-like screen - you don't use your screen as a hammer or throw your device against a wall - you find it doesn't fit to the very edge of the screen (2-3mm clearance) and/or want case compatibility - be prepared to spend time prepping (cleaning) the screen and watching a video or two before you install it. If you object to any of the above, you should not use a matte screen protector.
