I liked the hemmer because it made my sewing work easier. I'm new to sewing and wanted to make potholders. I adjusted the hem a bit and that made my job easier, and I sewed a straight stitch onto the strapping strip on the outside edge of the thumbtack. I was frustrated that I couldn't sew a straight stitch on the outer strap. After making some adjustments, I couldn't sew a straight stitch. After making my adjustments, I was able to sew a straight stitch and press the piping firmly against the adhesive. Now I need to get the one that hasn't been modified so I have it when I need it. I'm still learning to sew.
