Fraud and Waste of Time

If you're more hands-on than most, and know for sure that the wall you're planning to mount this to has 16" center studs, then this review isn't for you. The product is probably ok, I don't know. For those who only want to install a television. This product is a scam! It will not fit standard interior wall studs. Aware that this product will not suit most users, the company includes instructions on how to purchase the necessary adapter for standard indoor walls or much more expensive mounts that cost twice as much ($79), including a multi-inch -Mounting plate more. but otherwise identical. In any case, you pay about twice as much. I wouldn't worry too much if the adapter was reasonably priced, but it's almost as expensive as the quantity itself. Priced at $33, the mount feels well constructed and refined with mounting hardware, full movement, and even an included bubble level on. Based on that alone, I'd give it high marks for looks alone since I couldn't use it. If you're trying to figure out how to mount this on the wall, you'll find that you'll have to shell out another $27 for two simple pieces of metal long enough to go from post to post. I think it's even worse because many people like me will be tempted to install it on a single stud which is incorrect and unsafe. Luckily I decided to return this and order a matching mount from another supplier, but the desire to make the job easy to do made me wonder if two screws in a stud would be enough to hold my large TV. Maybe, maybe not. I do not know. I won't find out. I still think it would be unethical for the adapter to cost something like $5, but at least it wouldn't be outrageous. Consisting of no more than 1/20 the materials, the adapter is much simpler. These are 2 thin plates. I can't imagine it costing next to nothing, but it allows this company to double the cost of the mount and account for sunk costs. This misconception leads people to irrationally spend more money than they should on a company that is purposely scamming them because they have come this far and don't want to deal with a refund. They should clearly warn that this won't work for most users, or include an additional sign, or at least have it displayed as a cheap add-on at checkout. Again, my biggest issue is that they bloat the necessary part that needs to be included and costs no more than a few dollars. You settle for $33 but end up paying $60, which even adds up to a nice round number as if it were the real price to begin with. Worse, most people will probably unsafely attach it to the same stud and drywall, or worse, just drywall to get the job done without wasting more time and money. This is a very unfortunate act by a company that has made an otherwise excellent product. *Update: Other manufacturers sell a similar adapter for $7 instead of $27.

Strong, but poorly designed.
