inch laptop. I have a 15.6" HP laptop, but it has a slightly large frame, so I often worry about it fitting into "standard 15" laptop bays". I assumed that fitting into a laptop meant for a 17 inch shouldn't be a problem. Well, technically it fits. It fits in the middle but the corners stick out. If I pull really hard I can trace the fabric around the corners. But there is no padding, and it seems that such pressure wears out the fabric very quickly, in addition to the fact that the upper corners are very vulnerable. I've also seen where TSA still requires everyone to take out their laptop and it's VERY difficult to get it in and out of the bay easily - also frustrating when you're taking it out and back in a lot. I have no idea how a real 17 inch laptop fits. I looked at the dimensions of some popular 17 inch laptops and they are all longer than mine. For reference, my actual external measurement (i.e. chassis) is 15.13 inches for W. The 17-inch MacBook Pro is 15.47 inches and that's probably one of the thinner profiles for the 17-inch model - the most of them over this size. There were a few other things that were disappointing: 1) It wasn't clear to me from the images that they had removed the bottom level of organizers in the admin panel. Now only 3 pockets. I'm not sure why they chose this, but personally I wish there were more organizational pockets. 2) The color "Juneberry Purple" really looks more like a navy blue. The photos are very dark, so difficult to see. But everyone I asked described it as dark blue - I was hoping for a darker purple but it's not. The color is still nice - just keep that in mind. The packaging looks good but the fact my laptop doesn't fit is a deal breaker so it's being returned. As a side note - unless the description specifically states that it's suitable for 17" laptops, I wouldn't deduct from that many stars. As this was a particular selling point for me and as all the materials clearly state that they will fit I think it is fair to consider this a major disappointment.
