save your money

Save your money it bleeds. I polished the tape twice to make sure it lays on the paper as best as possible. This tape had "lines" that reminded me of duct tape, but when it was pulled from the roll they were no longer visible. I compared three tapes for a project. I create an extensive color chart for all my watercolors in terms of value, intensity and color mixture. I need a lot of masking tape for this project, so testing different types of "artist" or thin masking tape was the best way to find one that best suits my needs. Tape 2080 (blue) 1/8" and tape 3M 2090 (blue) 1/8". The 3M quality is for thin masking tape. 3m 2070 and 2090 were very similar with few noticeable differences. Both were blue in color, 2090 was slightly darker and stickier than 2080. Both were very easy to tear and easy to put down. I polished the corners of the ribbon where they overlapped. Using artist tape only, I polished each brand the same way, except I did it twice for the tape because I only felt good adhesion like the others the second time around. I used 140lb cold pressed watercolor paper and various values with a deep cobalt blue. I chose 3M 2090 for cold pressing and 2080 when I need to use a heat press because again it's a little less sticky and after testing this particular one on a smooth surface, it gave me the results I wanted. .
