These lights were purchased to replace my old 60w halogen lights for my kitchen. At first I thought it was as simple as removing the halogen bulbs and installing these LEDs, but it so happened that I had two pin bulb halogen bulbs that use a transformer to reduce the wattage so they didn't work. I've thought long and hard about returning these and buying the ones that come with a simple box and two springs (no container needed) but reading the reviews I wasn't sure if they didn't show the gaps between the ceiling and the lamps would - I really really really hate gaps - and ended up ordering this one too: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00X6BDQC4/ref=emc_b_5_t This eliminates the need to remove 6 cans used for halogen bulbs with their massive and heavy transformers The installation of these lamps was not difficult. After installing the boxes, which were also very easy to install, it only took a few minutes for the lights to come on and they are all perfectly flush with the ceiling. The light is very bright and floods the entire kitchen, no shadow gaps like halogens used to have. I chose warm white 3000K and they look fantastic, bright but not too bright to look like an industrial kitchen. A few recommendations: If you want the work to look professional and conform to most building codes, I'd say I'll try to avoid stand-alone ones with feathers. And as mentioned before, note that with double-pin halogen bulbs, simply swapping the bulbs for these bulbs won't work, as the cans won't supply enough current to light the LED.
