So I'm handy. And the 2-in-1 shaver/trimmer seemed handy to me even though I had no idea how to use the trimmer. So I signed up for the Schick Hydro Silk TrimStyle Razor campaign through BzzAgent. Let me tell you about my first impressions with the shaver and trimmer. My name is BzzAgent Anneld. First impressions: The packaging was beautiful and I didn't have to take out my chainsaw to open it. The razor is slightly larger than a regular razor, but durable and comfortable. I was glad that the trimmer comes with a rechargeable battery. To insert the battery, I recommend inserting the flat part of the battery first and then rotating the shaver. Helpful photos and instructions for using the razor are hidden under the cardboard insert on the back. How to use the razor: The razor shaves nice and smooth, leaving the legs smooth and moisturized. It was missing some random sections of hair, although I scanned most areas twice. Also, every time I rinsed the blades in water, a large drop of saliva would drip off the razor head. I wondered how long a moisturizer could last when so much came out so easily. Overall the razor was good, but salivation wasn't particularly impressive despite all the hype surrounding its HydroSilky properties. I have attached a picture of what the razor looked like after first use. Using the Trimmer: Okay, I confess I had no idea how to use the trimmer so I posted it on YouTube. All man beard trimming videos have been featured. From them I learned to hold a razor (blades parallel to the skin). Also, I've found that shaving (or against the hair) removes more hair than shaving down (or across the hair). If you don't cut everything it's a bit of an art so be careful. The trimmer has four settings. Three settings are found by adjusting the case, and the fourth setting is found by removing the case. I've never dreamed of using a trimmer, but this is just what I needed. The use of protection is nice because then I didn't have to worry at all about pinching the skin like scissors (and I had to). Removing the guard works well for a very tight cut that's gentler on the skin than a razor if you're careful. The only downside to a trimmer is hair gets stuck in it and I'm not the best person to clean it. I tried rinsing it out (probably a bad idea) and then used a cotton swab. But the hair is still stuck there as you can see in my drawing. Overall this is a great product as it helped me learn the skills of the trimmer. That the razor gets stuck on the other end is just a bonus for me. I will probably never live without a trimmer again.
