Review on ๐Ÿ“ธ Medcom CRM 100 Digital Radiation Detector by Reginald Pitt

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Geiger counter CRM100 = YES!

The CRM100 general purpose geiger counter is great for the price . It will measure FOUR things: alpha, beta, gamma and x-ray. For a home user, the device is excellent. There are more sensitive/professional Geiger counters out there, but they cost a lot of money and are intended for professional users. Good things: #1: Price for what you get! #2: Easy to learn and use "Anyone can use it." #3: Not too big and light. #4: Comes with a nice black nylon carry case with velcro closure. #5: Comes with a simple quick start guide that isn't technical. No. 6: Large display and easy to read. #7: No calibration. required (12 months factory warranty). Ugly things: #1: It's plastic and if dropped it might break. #2: It is not waterproof.> NOTE: This instrument does not detect radioactive food (e.g. fish). You need a very expensive professional device for this. Unfortunately, NOBODY has an inexpensive detector for this. For home users and the curious, this is your geiger counter. I can recommend it. :)

Pros
  • LCD digital display shows current radiation level in milliroentgens (mR) per hour (mR/hr) or counts per minute (CPM); or, if SI (metric) units are selected, in microsieverts (ยตSv) per hour (ยตSv/hr) or pulses per second (CPS)
Cons
  • A newer model could have been selected
