Description of 📸 Medcom CRM 100 Digital Radiation Detector

Radiation detector used for surveying levels of potentially harmful ionizing particles and rays in the environment such as in naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM) contamination, contamination detection of packages, and equipment, and in first responder, personal safety, educational, and ambient monitoring applications. Device is not energy compensated, and allows for detection of ionizing radiation types including alpha and beta particles, and gamma rays and x-rays. LCD digital light displays current radiation level in milliroentgens (mR) per hour (mR/hr), or counts per minute (CPM); or when SI (metric) units are selected, in microSieverts (μSv) per hour (μSv/hr), or counts per second (CPS). Provides total count for a timed period (from one minute to 40 hours) to determine average CPM over a period of time for higher accuracy. Red, flashing light indicates counting for a timed period (from one minute to 40 hours), and audible beeper (which can be muted) indicates each ionizing radiation event.

It works and needs to be treated with care.

The device is in operation. You can turn off the sound. I bought this device to check if the tea I get from Japan is radioactive. I am happy to report that this is not the case. The device is not very durable and not waterproof. It cannot be dropped or get wet. I used it and put it back in the box. If I get new tea I will use it again. What it measures in terms of price is acceptable.

Pros
  • A flashing red light indicates a countdown to a specified period of time (from one minute to 40 hours) and an audible alarm (which can be silenced) indicates any ionizing radiation event.
Cons
  • Quick guide

I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend money.

First of all I would like to say that I don't know much about radiation. I'm still learning, but I was looking for a reliable device. This was the cheapest CRM 100 I found. I've looked for several different geiger counters. were cheaper. My first was fine, but I found the reading felt low and random. I chose the CRM-100 and am very satisfied with this device. I've seen some videos of Tom from Anti-Proton.com using the CRM-100 alongside other Geiger counters. Tom gave the CRM-100 a very positive

Pros
Surroundings. Applications
Cons
  • No instructions

Geiger counter CRM100 = YES!

The CRM100 general purpose geiger counter is great for the price . It will measure FOUR things: alpha, beta, gamma and x-ray. For a home user, the device is excellent. There are more sensitive/professional Geiger counters out there, but they cost a lot of money and are intended for professional users. Good things: #1: Price for what you get! #2: Easy to learn and use "Anyone can use it." #3: Not too big and light. #4: Comes with a nice black nylon carry case with velcro closure. #5: Comes with…

Pros
  • LCD digital display shows current radiation level in milliroentgens (mR) per hour (mR/hr) or counts per minute (CPM); or, if SI (metric) units are selected, in microsieverts (µSv) per hour (µSv/hr) or pulses per second (CPS)
Cons
  • A newer model could have been selected
