It works and needs to be treated with care.

The device is in operation. You can turn off the sound. I bought this device to check if the tea I get from Japan is radioactive. I am happy to report that this is not the case. The device is not very durable and not waterproof. It cannot be dropped or get wet. I used it and put it back in the box. If I get new tea I will use it again. What it measures in terms of price is acceptable.

Pros

A flashing red light indicates a countdown to a specified period of time (from one minute to 40 hours) and an audible alarm (which can be silenced) indicates any ionizing radiation event.
