Good shelves, but the price is a bit high

Not bad shelves in general. There were a few minor hardware issues. One of the mounting screws was bent. And one of the wooden dowels broke. One of the screw caps was broken. You get a lot more nails than you need to hammer into the back of a shelf. I seem to remember that in one of the reviews someone complained about the lack of DVD storage space. There are two ways to deal with this. You can remove the second shelf for a total of four shelves with one large shelf, or you can place DVDs sideways on the top shelves. I'm guessing the top two shelves if you put the DVDs on their side hold about 10 DVDs each. I don't use these shelves to store DVDs. I only use them for storage around my TV. Also, I seem to remember someone saying they were cheap. Yes, they are cheap, like IKEA furniture. Made from coated chipboard, like IKEA furniture. However, it is very durable and covered on all sides. You won't get wooden furniture at this price. I will say the following. My biggest complaint, aside from the broken hardware, is that the company is probably charging twice what the shelves cost. I suspect they're doing this to offset some shipping costs, but I'm expecting to pay about $20 per shelf for it at Walmart. I really needed these special shelves because they are perfect for what I'm trying to do, but otherwise I would never have spent money on them. I will also putting them together give advice to make sure you read the first guide carefully and make sure the cams are pointing in the right direction otherwise the top of the shelves won't move as you want and you'll turn them with a screwdriver need to get the right orientation. I missed this on the first shelf I assembled and had a hard time understanding why the tops of the shelves didn't sit flush. You'll also need a hammer and Phillips screwdriver to complete the assembly, and you may need to drive in wood dowels. connecting the top and bottom of the shelves to the sides. Due to a broken cam that I had to manipulate with pliers to make it work properly, I had to pound in one of the tops of the shelves to make it sit flush against the side. If you need to do this for any reason, please make sure you place a folded washcloth or towel under the floor so as not to damage the coating on the shelves. I am attaching a photo of my setup. Basically, I'm building a modular entertainment system piece by piece.
