The original locking ring on my Garmin FR 35 failed after just over two years of use. The original ring broke from daily use and flexing. I first tried to repair the original ring with super glue, which says on the packaging that it is suitable for repairing rubber products. There was an error. Even if the glued ring was frozen overnight, the glue lasted a maximum of 24 hours. Then I ordered these mounting rings, which was the first thing I had to do. They were the same as the original so I'm guessing each has a two year lifespan. This corresponds to a service life of 20 years. Make it 22 - the distributor added an eleventh ring to the package I received. I doubt my Garmin will last that long, so more than a lifetime supply. The locking ring holds the free part of the watch strap. I'm very glad I bought these through Revain and would recommend them to anyone who needs (or might need) a replacement lock ring for their Garmin watch.
