Works as advertised, better than Green Drain
I have tried this and a competing Green Drain, both for basement floor drains, with 2" pipe. Simply put, this drain is fast, and at the same time, the green drainage drains slowly, causing water to accumulate. If I could perhaps push these devices deeper into the pipe so that a larger column of water forms above them and the pressure rises, both would work equally well. Important caveat: The source of my odor issue turned out to be *not* a shower drain, so I can't confirm how well any device blocks odors from the pipes.
