This is Bluetooth speaker and MP3 party SD card in the box! My iHome Bluetooth speaker finally failed after 4 years and I needed a replacement. As a fan of EDUP products, best known for their networking products, I stumbled across this speaker and decided to give it a try. The reviews were correct. This is an impressive product! Good solid construction, not too heavy, waterproof (didn't get wet but splashed from the pool) and very portable. The connection ports for the microUSB port for charging, the audio-in port and the SD card slot are closed on the side and are easily accessible. The product includes a tiny microUSB cable and an audio cable which was nice to find (they are in the box under the box). It took 4 hours to charge initially and it has a flashing white light next to the power button to let you know the charging status. The audio is very clear and although it can get louder the audio remains clear. A bit of heavy bass and I think it could use a bit more treble, but it still sounds amazing. The audio level on your Bluetooth transmitting device (phone, computer, etc.) needs to be cranked up to provide a volume range for the speaker, which is pretty much the norm I've found. Easy connection to my cell phone. Bluetooth range is great. Battery life varies based on volume, backlight usage, and Bluetooth connection or SD card playback. I got 8 hours of mix from this which I enjoyed spending the day at the pool and later in the evening. The front speaker flashes the lights that match the bass in your music and really brings your music to life. You can also turn them on or off to save battery life. The controls are easy to use. I love the voice guidance telling you when it's on, off, bluetooth connected and SD card mode. NOW FOR THE BONUS FEATURE. The SD card mode is a real bonus of the product in my opinion and is not mentioned in the instructions. I was able to use a 7 year old 2GB card in the device with no problem. Excited, now I'm going to use my old SD cards. The speaker will play MP3s in the order they appear in your card's directory (for that small FAT card). You can also have folders and use the + and - controls at the top (doubling as volume controls) to navigate back and forth. Long press the minus button and you will skip to the next track. MP3 music even picks up where you left off when you turned it on. If I had known about this EDUP product sooner, I would have thrown my iHome away even sooner. This is definitely one of my favorite buys of the year!
