Firstly, if you think you can find an amethyst geode for this price (the size of the palm of your hand) then there are a number of other things you must order from Revane. That being said, if like most people you read the description and realize that this is for aquariums and is made of resin, you'll be pleasantly surprised. It's a well poured, nice realistic color for an amethyst and so big it's actually too big for my small aquarium. It's so pretty I can leave it for my kids to use in my dinosaur playset. I don't understand how anyone could order this thinking they were getting a real amethyst geode as it would be the equivalent of a £10 geode and would cost hundreds of dollars. However, if you like crystals, geodes, and amethysts and want something really cool and mystical for your tank, you'll love this.
