I just love this tank. I was at the pet store buying 50 gallons of stuff for my house when I saw this lonely little betta on the shelf that was discolored with a broken fin and looked like its days were numbered. For some reason it broke my heart and I just knew I had to help him. I originally bought this aquarium for my desk to keep plants in, but I emptied and decorated it to plant a Betta in it. I named him Ryba (fish in Russian) and after 2 weeks he is swimming, with a beautiful bright color and as happy as can be. This tank is very low maintenance, easy to set up and perfect for my little fella (PLEASE DO NOT PUT A BETTA IN ANY OF THE SMALL TANKS ADVERTISED FOR HIM). I've included a 7 watt marina heater (works wonders), a marimo moss ball for extra filtration, decoration and oxygen, a chicken leaf for fish to rest, a plant and a squid house for him to enjoy hiding and playing in it. It is very easy to clean, I only wash the filter once every 2 weeks. My colleague has a rooster in a bowl that he has to clean every week, he finally gave up and bought this basin too. This tank is just perfect. Also, it's easy to move around (I've changed tables twice) and the LED light adds a nice touch, it looks very modern and fits perfectly in a modern office space, and I get lots of compliments and booth visits from other Tanks staff. The only thing I recommend is replacing the activated carbon bag that comes with the filter with a Purigen 100ml bag for MAXIMUM water clarity, especially if you plan to keep fish other than bettas here (which I don't recommend due to the distance). Otherwise a great tank. I am happy, Pisces are happy and above all alive. NOTE: Many people complain that the current is too strong for the bettas, there is a small switch on the filter box that allows you to adjust the flow, i.e. set it low and add a sponge for the pre-filter, and the fish loves the feel of the water coming out of it and it usually cools the sponge down.
